IoT Java Software Engineer (L3 Support)

In the Connected Car space - Aeris is a valued supplier to their automotive OEM partners which include Honda, Hyundai and Mitsubishi. As a result, their partners have been able to enhance connectivity for the complete vehicle life cycle – changing the business dynamics of their programs. As a result of our continued success, Aeris’ Connected Car footprint and roadmap is expanding and we are seeking a java developer with L3 customer support talents to our telematics team. This new position will play an important role in our automotive R&D team and will focus on conducting critical customer issue triage, bug fixes and help our customers in designing their IoT products using Aeris Mobility Platform.
Role and Responsibilities:
• Work independently with technical leadership to analyze production issues, provide recommendation and own defect resolution for pre-release in early integration with customers and post release in bug fixes.
• Reproduce customer escalated issues in house by debugging/review software component, vehicle control unit, telecom network and backend server logs.
• Communicate with customers to better understand customer reported issues and bridge the gap between internal development design and external customer user cases.
• Drive continuous improvement through failure, defect analysis, code review, bug fixes and add automated critical tests in regression test library.
• Ability to provide improvement insights to AMP development teams.
• Develop tools to measure and report L3 support/defect resolution metrics
• Participate in Agile Cross Functional team activities and assure a close loop traceability for customer escalated issues.
• Conduct works with a high level of self-accountability, skills of innovative problem solving and a passion for customer satisfaction
The successful candidate will have:
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent discipline
• A minimum of 3-8 years of customer facing with hands-on core java development and related tools
• Product experience using Java, Spring, Hibernate, REST, XML, JSON, and Message Queues
• Knowledge and Hands on experience in docker and docker development & deployments
• Experience and ability of debug in an Amazon Web Services environment
• Experience and knowledge of databases – both relational and none with large scale production system
• Experience working with test driven development
• Proficiency with Agile development environment and tools, e.g. confluence, Jira and Jenkins, etc.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Skills that will set you apart:
• You have developed in Node.JS
• You have recent experience using Angular, Backbone or any other similar frameworks
• You have Telecom-related product experience
