Job Title: Lead SDET (Automation and GenAI), Automotive
Experience: 7 to 12 Years

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities):
  • Strategic Automation Leadership: Architect, design, and implement highly robust, scalable, and intelligent test automation frameworks for complex cloud-based services.
  • Comprehensive Test Suite Development: Develop robust automated test coverage across functional, performance, security, and end-to-end layers using tools like Playwright, Rest Assured, JMeter, Postman, and Cucumber.
  • Enforce Code Quality: Conduct code reviews to ensure high standards in both application and test automation code.
  • Drive CI/CD Integration: Ensure seamless automation within CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps) for faster releases.
  • Define Quality Strategy: Lead QA planning, execution, and reporting for safety-critical systems with a strong focus on coverage and traceability.
  • Drive Defect Management: Oversee defect lifecycle with tools like JIRA, Zephyr, and Xray; use GenAI for faster triage and RCA.
  • Champion GenAI Integration: Lead the identification, evaluation, and integration of Generative AI tools and techniques throughout the SDLC:
    • Leverage GenAI for automated test case generation and optimization from requirements/specifications.
    • Utilize GenAI for code generation and refactoring within automation frameworks and test scripts.
    • Explore GenAI for predictive defect analysis, root cause suggestion, and anomaly detection
  • Mentor & Innovate: Guide to junior engineers and promote AI-driven testing practices and continuous learning.
  • Collaborate in Agile Teams: Work cross-functionally with Product, Dev, and DevOps to embed quality throughout the SDLC.

What We're Looking For (Required Skills & Qualifications):

  • Experience: 7–12 years in QA/Automation with 2 – 3 years in a lead/senior role; cloud-native background preferred.
  • Automation Expertise: Strong in Java, JavaScript, or Python for automation framework development. Proven skills in building scalable frameworks using tools like Rest Assured, Selenium, Playwright, Appium, and JMeter.
  • GenAI Proficiency: Hands-on experience with GenAI tools (OpenAI, Gemini, Claude) for test automation, code generation, and analysis. Familiar with GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and similar AI-powered dev/test tools.
  • Cloud & Microservices: Experience testing apps on AWS, Azure, or GCP in microservices-based architectures.
  • CI/CD & DevOps: Proficient with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps for automation pipeline integration.
  • Testing Depth: Skilled in API testing (Postman, SoapUI), database validation (SQL/NoSQL), and broad testing methodologies. Strong grasp of functional, performance, security, and end-to- end testing practices.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, communication, and collaboration abilities.

Bonus Points (Nice to Have):

  • Automotive, Telematics, or IoT experience.
  • Familiarity with real-time systems and event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  • Monitoring/logging tools (eg Grafana).
  • Performance tuning and system optimization for large-scale platforms.
